Associating Software Licenses with IT Assets

Software licenses are used when they are associated with IT assets. This association is completed in the Giva eSoftwareManager application when software licenses are associated with specific IT assets such as PCs or laptops. In the first screen shot below, you can see where software licenses are associated with the IT asset under the "Software Applications" section. If you click, "Add Software," then the second screen below will be displayed.

After you select Product Name and click "Find Licenses," the following screen will be displayed. In order to add this software to this IT asset, you click, "Use." The system adds one license used to the Licenses Purchased/Used on the last column. If there are no remaining licenses available for a specific License Number, the License Number is not displayed on this screen. In this case, we have 1500 purchased and 3 used on the first License Number and one purchased and 0 used on the second License Number.
