Before you create software asset records, you will need to complete some software asset management administration steps to set up the pick lists used to create the SAM record.

There are six different optional asset administration steps. The number of asset administration steps that you complete is up to you. The more steps that you complete, the richer the asset profile and asset reports will be for your company.
